Inside Our Current Issue
Ah, it's the season that everyone loves to celebrate, and also the season that tends to create a bit of stress—gifts to make, the house to decorate, family and friends to invite over...and there's that new baby on the way. To give you some ideas and even help you out, this issue of Knit 1-2-3 is chock-full of easy, fun, and quick gift projects and projects for your home—and even that baby shower, with our baby blankets on pages 37–40, one of which is perfect for baby's first Christmas.
Pages 18–23 feature quick-stitch gift projects, from scarves to wraps, for the whole family. Then it's time for you and yours with projects for festive home decorating including a super-easy Tweedy Table Runner (page 29) and our Many Merry Minis soft, toddler-friendly ornaments (page 31). We also have great project ideas for you and for those you love, with a festive Point-Settia Scarf on page 32 for you, Santa's Little Helper stocking cap (page 30) for your daughter or granddaughter, and a special-night-out Ladies Night Scarf on page 33 (our cover project).
Follow Gram and Kylie as they make an all-holidays doll puppet in "Gram & Me" on page 34. Kylie's doll puppet loves to celebrate Christmas, Chanukah, and Kwanzaa and has a scarf to represent each of them! For those people on your gift list who you absolutely can't figure out what to give, Kimberly K. McAlindin's Tablet Sleeves, part of her "Technique 1-2-3: Wondrous Weaving" article on woven stitches, are the perfect answer.
This season is also all about helping others, so lend a hand to Embraceable Wraps, who provides blankets and wraps to comfort patients undergoing chemo treatment. The story is on page 14 with a follow-up project on page 16.
So celebrate! I know I will—and I'll be thinking of each and every one of you who have made this year so rewarding for me.
